Lowery's is a Tappahannock Restaurant that over the years that has become a Virginia Restaurant and beyond. Still owned and operated by the Lowery family the Restaurant has changed with the times but still managed to hold on to its  concept of being a True Family Restaurant. The restaurant features a great kids menu as well a fishing well and a talking Mynah Bird for every ones entertainment. The management staff is committed to serving the highest quality food possible and that starts with buying quality products.

  Being close to the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula the Tappahannock Restaurant draws many diners from these areas. The restaurant is located in the heart of Tappahannock and  is proud to have a following from the Richmond and Fredericksburg areas. You just have to look at the license plates on the vehicles in this Tappahannock Restaurants parking lot to know that peolpe from a far enjoy meals at Lowery's daily. The dedication of the Lowery family and the many loyal staff members have paved the way from being a Tappahannock Tradition to becoming a Virginia Tradition.

   Lowery's being a Virginia Restaurant is known for local seafood such as Chesapeake Bay Oysters which are served year round. All the Oysters served at Lowery's are Chesapeake Bay Oysters and come from Bevan's Oyster Company which is located in Kinsale about 30 miles from Tappahannock. The Fresh Jumbo Lump crab meat is some of Virginia's finest and comes exclusively from Little River Seafood in Reedville. Having both Little River and Bevan's located in the Northern Neck and so close, Lowery's can get multiple deliveries weekly.

  In the beginning being one of a handful of Tappahannock Restaurants Lowery's had  to do much more than serve great seafood and still continues that tradition today. Serving USDA Choice Steaks, All American Fried Chicken, USDA Choice Prime Rib, Oven Roasted Turkey and weekend Breakfast (Saturday and Sunday 8am until 10:30am) are just some of the non seafood items we have. There is something for everyone at Lowery's.  The All American Chicken can be ordered in the main dining room or picked up in the Carry-Out Shop, almost anything on our menu can ordered for take out through our Carry-Out Shop located at the right hand side of the main parking lot. Call ahead and it will be ready when you arrive. Monday thru Saturday there are many daily Lunch Specials available both for take out and in the restaurant. The dinners specials include at least two specials every night as well as All You Can Eat Specials most night.

  Many changes and trends have come and gone over the years Lowery's has been in business but the concept of being a Family Restaurant that serves a variety of Quality Food with Quality service at fair prices has been the winning combination of this Tappahannock Restaurant for almost seventy years.

Crablegs are back!!!! Every Friday night from 5pm until 8pm All You Can eat Crablegs are once again on the menu.

   We are fortunate to have Local relationships with Bevan's Oyster Company and Little River Seafood.

All of our Oysters come from Bevan's and are always from the Chesapeake Bay or her Tributaries. Oysters are served many ways here at Lowery's of course the long time favorite is Southern Fried. We have have learned over the years how to do Oysters just right whether it is fried or our rich and creamy oyster stew. Half Shell and Steamed Oysters are also on our menu and are another fovorite.
